Octopus View Point
One of the most unique locations to get the most dramatic view of the placid backwaters of the Krishna River is the Octopus View Point. It is not just the backwaters that will lure the nature-lover in you, but also the thick forest cover and gorges of the Nallamala Hills. The point gets its name from the view that looks like an octopus lying in between the hillocks.
Srisailam Dam
At 300m above sea level, and a further 145m higher, the Srisailam Dam is India's second hydro power project. The surrounding rugged hills provide beautiful natural views.
Srisailam Temple
A trip to Srisailam is hardly complete without a visit to the famed and revered temple that stands tall in the hill town. Views of the temple town from the distance during the day, is as good and unforgettable during the night.
Akkamahadevi Caves
Among the many caves that are believed to have been naturally formed near the Krishna River, the Akkamahadevi Caves are the most beautiful. This is a combination of the scenic beauty of the natural environment, and an opportunity to indulge in some light adventure. Reaching there is best by boat on the Krishna River, and a brief trek.
